"Simple Mornings" in Green Child Magazine

The new Late Winter issue of Green Child Magazine is now out, and it's fantastic! I have an article on page 31 on "10 Simple Habits to Manage Your Mornings," so I hope you'll spend some time checking out the issue and let me know what you think!

great article! I know that with our daughters we do many of these. Our youngest daughter has Down syndrome so the visual "reminders" come in very handy. I think they have fostered her independence. I have a HUGE chalkboard in my kitchen that lists the weeks nightly dinners, breakfasts (one tip-make individual containers of a serving of cereal with a lid to keep in pantry for a quick breakfast), as well as the schedule for the week, ex: dr. appts, therapy etc. , this also helps my husband know where we are when he gets home from work & we aren't home. We (my daughter & I) also pick out our clothes for the week -on the hanger we put the top, pants, panties & clothespin the socks to the hanger & add the matching hair accessory. This saves us those mornings "I don't want to wear that!" I can then gently remind her that remember we picked out our outfits together. Definitely agree with having a set nightly "wind down" time as we call it. So jammies go on @ 7:30 & bathroom time, a book can be read, then about 15 minutes of playing barbies then lights out. I could go on and on! But I really love articles that are doable & this one is very doable!
